Buying tickets

We want you to have the best possible day with us so below is some key information you may need to know -

Day Tickets are valid for a single day and are date specific
Online tickets must be booked by midnight (GMT) on the day before your intended visit to receive the discounted rate. Tickets can still be purchased on the day, but the discount will not apply.
You will receive a booking confirmation email which is also your ticket. Tickets can be added to your Apple or Google wallet.
We are unable to accept Tesco Clubcard paper vouchers. Tesco Clubcard Vouchers may be used online only.
Blue Peter badges, Tesco Clubcard printed vouchers and other offline promotional/discount codes cannot be used in conjunction with tickets purchased online.
Cheddar Gorge and Caves operates a policy of no refunds or exchanges for tickets booked online.
Some activities and events may incur additional charges.
Please note, we are only accepting debit card/credit card/smartphone payments on site.
Cheddar Gorge and Caves accepts all major credit and debit cards except Diners Club.
If you’re pre-booking a visit for a group of 15 or more paying guests you are eligible for discounted group rates. Groups of 15-32 people can book online here. Groups of 32+ please call us on 01934 742343 to book your group.
Cheddar Gorge and Caves welcomes visitors with disabilities. Essential Companion tickets are available free if the person you are accompanying has either an Access Card or a Longleat Digital Access Pass with a +1 symbol. For Access Card information, please visit our Safety and Accessibility page.
Additional Essential Companion tickets are available upon request. If more than one carer is required per individual, please contact our guest services team on info@cheddargorge.co.uk once you have made your booking.
If you are a Longleat member (annual pass holder) you do not need to pre-book a Day Ticket online but can do so here. This is where you can pre-book member-discounted activities and events, as well as family and friends tickets.
Cheddar is dog friendly. All well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Cheddar Gorge & Caves welcomes visitors with disabilities and special needs. Please check the 'need to know' sections of each attraction as those with severely restricted mobility will find much of Cheddar Gorge & Caves inaccessible including the caves, the Gorge Walk and the Lookout Tower. A carer can enter Cheddar Gorge and Caves free of charge when accompanying a guest with additional needs.
Online discounts may be introduced at certain times of year via special promotional codes. These will be at Cheddar Gorge & Caves' discretion. Cheddar Gorge & Caves will withdraw any promotional codes if Cheddar Gorge & Caves believes that they are abused in any way including promotion on auction sites such as ebay.
Possession of the E-Ticketing Booking Confirmation will be regarded as proof of purchase and will entitle you to the relevant number and type of tickets purchased.
Credit card transactions are made on a separate secure server with full encryption of all credit card data. Your credit card details and personal information will not be shared with any other company or organisation.
Special events may occasionally necessitate restricted access or additional charges to Cheddar Gorge & Caves.
Dogs are welcome.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to close to the public, withdraw any attraction, alter times, prices and events or services without notice.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to request further identification at the point of entry.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to refuse entry.

A valid Annual Membership admits the named person to Longleat and Cheddar Gorge & Caves during normal opening hours on valid dates for 12 months from the date of issue.

Digital Annual Membership cards will be issued immediately and can be saved to your Apple or Google wallet. Physical membership cards can be issued on request and collected from The Hub at Longleat or Guest Services at Cheddar Gorge.

During busy periods we want to ensure that all our visitors, including members, have a great experience. In order for us to allow access into the park for as many members as possible we require online prebooking on peak dates. An Annual Membership reservation is a £1 per person charitable donation. With all money going straight to good causes such as TUSK and Koala Life.

Longleat reserves the right to add extra excluded dates at any time. Any affected dates will be posted on longleat.co.uk

An Annual Membership is specific to the named person and is not transferable for any reason
Upgrades from a day ticket to membership are only available on Park during a visit. Please visit the Hub in Main Square (Longleat) or Guest Services (Cheddar Gorge) during your visit. Backdated upgrades are not available.

If you visit without your Annual Membership card you may be asked to pay the normal admission price, which is non-refundable

Longleat reserves the right to withdraw an Annual Membership or refuse renewal of a membership at any time

Lost membership cards can be replaced at an additional charge of £10 per lost card. Replacement cards can only be issued in person at Longleat

Some events can incur an additional fee on top of the Annual Membership cost

Some attractions or special events may not be included in the Annual Membership

Children must always be accompanied by a responsible adult

Annual Membership offers and discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion

The purchase of an Annual Membership is non-refundable

Annual Membership is not for resale and cannot be transferred

Entry is subject to the standard terms and conditions. Opening times and days vary throughout the year. Please ensure that you check our opening dates and times before commencing your journey

10% discount in food outlets applicable for up to 4 people per transaction

10% discount in gift shops

20% discount on Longleat VIP Experiences applicable to card holder plus one guest

20% discount on Day Tickets for Friends and Family valid for a maximum of 4 people, valid with printable voucher only. Voucher cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, promotion, or online ticket purchase

Pre-booked Day Tickets are valid for a single day and are date specific

If you wish to cancel any member reservations, email information@longleat.co.uk with your booking reference number. Please note that we are not able to process refunds for charitable donations or move the date.

Rocksport Activities

Rocksport full terms and conditions

Rocksport activity vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and must be taken within this period.
Some activities are only available at certain times of the year due to weather, so please check this at the point of purchase and on booking.
If you are unable to attend on any of the dates given, within the validity period, Cheddar Gorge & Caves may offer you an alternative activity option.
All purchases of Rocksport activities and Rocksport Gift Vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable.
We strongly recommend you book a minimum of 2 weeks before your visit; however, due to high demand on certain products and specific times of year, we suggest you book a date further in advance to avoid disappointment.
Please ensure you view the specific information for each activity, online before making your purchase.
All of our Rocksport activities are subject to availability.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to ask any participant to leave the activity should they behave in an inappropriate or unsafe manner and no refunds will be offered. Activity-specific safety rules are available on the website and upon request.
If you purchase an undated Rocksport activity gift voucher, these cannot be exchanged for cash and no change will be given.
When your online purchase has been completed, you will receive a confirmation email with a booking reference number. Please ensure that this is kept safe and to-hand when booking in a date, and when visiting the gorge. - Alternatively, please ensure it is passed on to the recipient, if bought as a gift.
It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the information you have supplied to us is accurate prior to making a purchase.
If you have purchased a Rocksport activity gift voucher, you must book an activity date in advance. Should you arrive with no specific date booked then the Cheddar Gorge & Caves team will endeavour to offer an available activity on that day, if nothing is available on the day, you can book your activity in for a future date.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to withdraw, amend or substitute any activities, attractions, experiences or offers without prior notice where circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this necessary. In such circumstances, no liability shall attach for any variation or withdrawal.

Cancellation or changes to the booking by the customer or Cheddar Gorge & Caves

Cheddar Gorge & Caves requires Rocksport participants to reach us at least 15 minutes in advance of their activity start time.
Every participant is required to complete a Participation Risk Acknowledgment Form before taking part in a Rocksport Activity. Guests who do not sign a Participation Risk Acknowledgement Form, or do not comply with any of the terms set out within the form or the Safety Rules, may be refused entry or prohibited from taking part in Rocksport activities. Spectators and / or supervising guests may also be required to sign a Spectator or Supervisor Rick Acknowledgement Form.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to cancel your activity with no refund if you arrive more than 10 minutes after your pre-booked time.
Once an activity has begun it will be at the discretion of Cheddar Gorge & Caves’ Rocksport team to determine if it is possible for latecomers to join the activity.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves cannot be held responsible for the weather, and activities will usually go ahead under normal conditions. However in circumstances where the experience is cancelled by the Rocksport team due to weather constraints, an alternative date or activity will be arranged.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to alter the itinerary of activities on any given day due to rock fall or other natural occurrences around the gorge, but will ensure that if so, this activity is replaced with another similar one or an alternative date will be arranged.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to alter dates, times and prices or facilities for any reason without any prior notice.
The management reserves the right to develop the gorge and caves areas or make alterations and improvements. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to reschedule any booked dates for Rocksport activities and will provide as much notice as possible; however in exceptional circumstances this cannot always be guaranteed.
If a Rocksport activity is cancelled by Cheddar Gorge & Caves then an alternative date or activity will be arranged.
Once the Rocksport activity date has been booked, it cannot be rescheduled and is non-refundable unless due to exceptional circumstances: eg: serious illness/injury, pregnancy or bereavement. This is at Cheddar Gorge & Caves’ discretion.
If for any reason the ownership of the Rocksport activity voucher is in contention, we will automatically defer the ownership to the purchaser whose details were given on payment.
Guest participation in Rocksport activities is voluntary and by participating guests acknowledge that they are aware of the risks involved. Cheddar Gorge & Caves accepts no responsibility and will not be liable for any loss, damage (including loss or damage to property) or injury arising from or in connection with Rocksport activities, as a result of the guest's failure to comply with safety recommendations and instructions from the Rocksport team. Cheddar Gorge & Caves does not, however, exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Cheddar Gorge & Caves.
It is advised that participants hold their own personal sports or activity insurance when taking part in high-risk adventure activities. However, this is at each individual’s discretion as to whether they choose to cover themselves, and is not a prerequisite of participating in Rocksport activities.

Each activity carries a minimum age for a reason; please adhere to this when booking otherwise it may result in our Rocksport team turning you away on the day.
Each activity, if being taken by children under 16 years of age requires at least one supervising adult over the age of 18 (1:9 ratio). For Junior Adventure Caving, there should be at least two supervising adults if more than six children are taking part (1:6, 2:8 ratios).
There will be no refunds offered if you do not adhere to age or supervision restrictions.
It is up to the individual to assess their own fitness levels for each activity, as some do require a degree of strength and mobility. If you are uncertain, please get in touch and discuss the activities with the team.
Cheddar Gorge & Caves reserves the right to ask you not to continue with an experience if we feel you are not physically or mentally able to participate and pose a risk to yourself, other participants or Rocksport instructors.
It is also up to the individual to make Cheddar Gorge & Caves aware in writing of any serious health complaint that may put themselves or others at risk.
Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this cannot always be achieved. Please contact Cheddar Gorge & Caves with any special requirements before booking to find out the most suitable activities available.
If you do not book in your Rocksport activity to take place within the given 12 months validity, the voucher will become void and cannot be extended, refunded or transferred.
Each Rocksport activity has a maximum capacity of ten participants. Unless you have purchased ten individual vouchers, or an exclusive session, it is very likely you will be sharing the activity with others. Please consider whether you are happy to share the experience. We encourage sympathetic language and behaviour in situations that call for it (for example, we will not allow overt profanity or adult themed language between participants if there are children present). We also encourage camaraderie and support amongst the group, particularly in instances where participant may be feeling nervous.
Each of the Rocksport activities have certain requirements from participants, such as maximum or minimum height, chest size, weight etc... There are also specific clothing requirements for each activity. On each activity web page you can view these requirements in full. Please ensure you have considered all of these before purchasing or booking. Cheddar Gorge & Caves cannot be responsible if you are not deemed able to take part in your activity due to not fulfilling one of these stated requirements. No refunds will be given in these instances, but as a gesture of goodwill, your activity vouchers can be exchanged for Cheddar Gorge & Caves Day Tickets for that date.
